Collection of general information when using our website
When you visit our website without registering or explicitly providing information in any other way, general information is collected automatically. This information, the so-called server log files, contains, for instance, the type of your browser, the operating system you are using, the domain name of your internet service provider, your IP address and similar.
These server log files are in particular processed with the aim to do the following:
- ensure a smooth connection build-up of the website,
- ensure a trouble-free use of our website,
- analyse the system security,
- fulfil further administrative purposes.
We do not use your data in order to draw conclusions regarding you as an individual. We analyse this sort of information statistically in order to optimise our internet presence and the technology behind it for further use.
This way of processing data complies with article 6 paragraph 1 (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) based on our legitimate interest to improve the stability and functionality of our website.
Where appropriate, recipients of this data are technical service providers in charge of the operation and servicing of our website in their quality as processors.
The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose of collection. This is generally true for the data used for the delivery of the website as soon as each session is over.
The provision of the aforementioned personal data is not legally or contractually mandated.
However without your IP address, neither the service nor the operational capability of our website can be ensured. In addition, certain services may become unavailable or limited. For this reason, objection is not possible.
Cookies
As many other websites, we also use the so-called “cookies”. These are small text files which are saved on your terminal equipment (tablet, laptop, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website. With the help of these files we receive certain data, such as, for instance, your IP address, the browser you are using and the corresponding operating system.
A cookie cannot be used in order to start a programme or transfer a virus to a computer. Using information contained in the cookies, we can make your internet navigation easier and the correct presentation of our websites possible.
Under no circumstances shall we transfer the data we collect to third parties, or link personal data without your permission.
Generally, you can of course use our website without cookies. The browsers are regularly adjusted in such a way that they accept cookies. In general, you can deactivate the use of cookies in the settings of your browser and delete or block the cookies that have already been saved. Please use the help function of your browser to change the settings. Please note, however, that deactivating cookies may result in certain functions of our website not working.
Use of Google web fonts
In order to present our website contents cross-browser correctly and graphically appealing, we use the so-called Google web fonts from the Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; further referred to as “Google”) for the display of fonts. You will find the applicable privacy statement of Google under the following link: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.
Your permission is the legal basis for our involving the Google web fonts and the data transfer to Google that comes with it (according to article 6 paragraph 1 (a) of the GDPR). The programming language JavaScript is used for the display of contents. You can therefore object to the processing of data by deactivating the execution of JavaScript in your browser or installing a JavaScript blocker. Please note that this may lead to a limitation in the website functions.
The call of the Google web fonts automatically initiates a connection to Google. This may imply a theoretical possibility that Google collect data in this case – although it is currently not clear whether it does that and if so, for what purposes.
We do not collect any personal data by involving the Google web fonts. You will find further information to the latter under https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq. Google processes your data in the USA and is subject to the EU-US Privacy Shield (see https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework).
The provision of the personal data is not legally or contractually mandated. However the use of standard fonts may make the correct display of contents impossible.
Data safety
In order to protect the safety of your data during transfer, we use cryptographic techniques, e.g. SSL, over HTTPS. Our servers are secured by means of Firewall and virus protection. Furthermore, our employees are obliged to follow the regulations of the GDPR and the Federal Data Protection Act (FDPA).
